Want to get involved with Conservation at Seattle Audubon?
Here are some current opportunities where we need your help!
Urban Habitat:
Consider joining the Urban Habitat Subcommittee,
a small group of dedicated volunteers and staff with a long history of
improving the state of urban habitat in the greater Seattle metropolitan
area. Issues that we are currently working on include the City of Seattle's
Comprehensive Plan, heron habitat protection and the Magnuson Park
redevelopment plan. Experience with reviewing comprehensive plans is a
major plus!
State Forests:
Work with a dynamic working group to organize citizens and members,
write comments and attend meetings with agency staff as part of the ten year harvest
level calculation and other agency decisions. Additional needs include in-depth
analysis of forestry models - experience required.
Northwest Shade Coffee Campaign:
Strategizing, maintaining Campaign Excel database of companies who belong;
keeping supplies updated and printed; keeping the website up-to-date;
participating in outreach events in the community; getting the Office Conversion Campaign
underway persuading members to bring shade-grown coffee to their places of work.
If you are fluent in spoken and written Spanish, we’d like your help translating
portions of our website into Spanish. Or become a part of the campaign committee and
participate in the upcoming Shade Coffee Committee meeting.
Protect Individual Species at Risk:
Help devise campaign strategies, engage the public and elected officials,
and engage in many other activities of these campaigns. Two or more hours per week.
You may work in a smaller working group or be a part of our Conservation Committee.
For all Conservation volunteer opportunities, please contact Alex Morgan at (206) 985-6581.
While prior experience is preferred, it is not required. We do, however, require you
to make a certain level of commitment to our activities and your work with us.
