Seattle Audubon inspires people of all ages to learn about and enjoy birds and the natural environment. Our education programs provide hands-on opportunities for students, adults, and families to satisfy their curiosity and improve their observation skills and appreciation.

Nature Camp 2008

Based in Magnuson Park in Seattle, Seattle Audubon Nature Camp has a long history of safe, fun and educational summer enrichment programs, where children and teens can learn about birds and nature in a challenging and caring environment.


Cascades Banding Camp for Teens
August 11-15, 2008
Registration begins Thursday, April 10!

Our Cascades Banding Camp is a partnership between Puget Sound Bird Observatory and Seattle Audubon. Departing from Seattle to its base in Wenatchee National Forest, camp trains high school students aged 15-18 from around the country in bird-banding techniques.

Seattle Audubon Education Department invites educators to investigate the following course.

BIRDS NEAR AND FAR SUMMER TEACHER INSTITUTE
Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3, 2008
8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
Most appropriate for grades 4-10

Join Woodland Park Zoo and Seattle Audubon to learn more about our feathered friends, from eagles to ostriches. This institute includes three and a half days at the zoo exploring the physical and behavioral characteristics of birds of the world and a half day in the field with Seattle Audubon staff observing and learning about our local bird life. Ideas will be provided for engaging students in learning about birds, bird migration and conservation issues, while meeting state learning requirements.

Cost: $30 materials fee. Clock hours (24) available for $2/clock hour or two quarter credits available for $35 pre credit (pending)
