Kristin Stewart
Field Trip Leader

Kristin birded sporadically while raising children and working as a social worker. "I think one reason I did continue was the experience of being in the middle of a huge fallout on Dauphin Island, Alabama, when I had only been birding about three months!" she comments. That was quite a sight for someone born in Seattle and raised mainly in western Washington with some time spent in Mississippi and Virginia. "It was overwhelming to see all those gorgeous birds in one small space."

She still loves to watch warblers, but adds, "My favorite bird is usually the one I am watching at the moment." Kristin finished the Master Birder class just a few months ago and says it was one of the most amazing experiences of her life. She has spent time volunteering in the Nature Shop and has begun leading field trips for Seattle Audubon.
