Seattle Audubon's Junior Naturalist counselor-in-training program provides volunteer leadership opportunities for high school teens at our summer nature day camp for children. Junior Naturalists work closely with adult naturalists to teach about birds and nature. They help supervise kids, teach crafts, and lead games, songs and skits, as well as do teen group projects.
Junior Naturalists devote at least one full week of summer, but may do several if available. Orientation is provided prior to the first week of camp.
To be eligible, teens must be going into the 10th grade or higher, have an interest in nature and children, and pass an application and screening process.
