Birds of PSSS
Numerous species of seabirds (waterfowl, loons, grebes, cormorants, gulls and alcids) winter in Puget Sound. Identification of these species in the field, especially in adverse weather or sea conditions, can provide a challenge to even the experienced birdwatcher.
Local photographer David Gluckman spends hundreds of hours every winter gathering images from nearby his native Port Townsend. Some of his images have been assembled on this site which uses Peterson-style arrows to point out helpful field marks.
